ABOUT

Alex is an award winning creative director, producer, journalist, media personality and celebrated visual artist.

​

​Alex has worked with major brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Footlocker, Scotch & Soda, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Appleton Estate Rum, and many more in a wide range of projects serving as a creative director, producer, marketing specialist and media personality.
 

As a journalist and culture expert, Alex has interviewed and created content with some of the world’s biggest names in music, sports, and pop culture such as; the Wu-Tang Clan, Ludacris, Big Sean, Maluma, Quavo, Russell Peters, Tate McRae, Zane Lowe, Nicky Jam, Jessie Reyez, Scotty Barnes and many more. He has hosted live events with the Toronto Raptors, New York Festivals award winning television special, “Alessia Cara: Live From Niagara Falls”, and a variety of on-camera specials for Complex NTWRK, including his own show “1x1 With Alex Narvaez” which ran from 2023 - 2024. Today Alex is the creative director and face of “Grayscale Studio”; a creative agency, digital entertainment platform and podcast series dedicated to promoting arts and culture while creating branded content opportunities for clients.

​As a creative director and producer, Alex has worked with major broadcasters and digital platforms in North America such as Complex NTWRK, MTV, BET, TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) the Africa Channel and more. He produced and directed “House of Strombo”, an Apple Music series featuring some of the world’s biggest musical artists. He also produced and directed three seasons of “Talkin’ Horses”, an award winning show focused on sports betting that aired on CTV and TSN. Most recently, Alex held the role of Senior Producer for Complex NTWRK and won a COPA award for the series “Northern Clutch” which Alex created, produced and directed.

​As a visual artist and community leader, Alex’s work has been featured in Nuit Blanche, the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Scarborough Civic Centre, Toronto Public Transit and the Toronto Public Library. Alex uses video and photography as a vehicle to create social change. He is the creative director of “Scarborough Made” an art collective with a focus on mentoring and creating employment opportunities for youth in the arts. Scarborough Made has led major public art installations and became a signature project of the City of Toronto in 2021. As an active member in media, Alex has served as a jury and panel member for the Canadian Academy of Cinema & Television, the Prism Prize, the Juno awards and Factor; aiding in developing talent. In 2024 TLN / Univision recognized Alex as part of their 10 Most Influential Hispanics Award.
